Dr Marc Faber was born in Zurich, Switzerland.  He went to school in Geneva and Zurich and finished high school with the Matura.  He studied Economics at the University of Zurich and, at the age of 24, obtained a PhD in Economics magna cum laude.

Between 1970 and 1978, Dr Faber worked for White Weld & Company Limited in New York, Zurich and Hong Kong.

Since 1973, he has lived in Hong Kong.  From 1978 to February 1990, he was the Managing Director of Drexel Burnham Lambert (HK) Ltd.

In June 1990, he set up his own business, publishing a widely read monthly investment newsletter “THE GLOOM BOOM & DOOM” report which highlights unusual investment opportunities.  He is also the author of several books including “TOMORROW’S GOLD – Asia’s Age of Discovery” which was first published in 2002 and highlights future investment opportunities around the world. “TOMORROW’S GOLD” was for several weeks on Amazon’s best seller list and has been translated into Japanese, Korean, Thai and German. Dr. Faber is also a regular contributor to several leading financial publications around the world.

A book on Dr Faber, “RIDING THE MILLENNIAL STORM”, by Nury Vittachi, was published in 1998.

A regular speaker at various investment seminars, Dr Faber is well known for his “contrarian” investment approach.

Rob McEwen: Chairman, Chief Owner of McEwen Mining, which has four mines located in USA, Canada, Mexico and Argentina. Associated with the gold industry all his career, first 18 years in the investment industry and since 1990 as CEO of several gold mining companies.

Founder of Goldcorp Inc., where he grew its market capitalization from $50 million to over $8 billion. At McEwen Mining (MUX) he owns 17% of the company, takes a salary of $1/ year and the cost of his investment in MUX and McEwen Copper exceeds US$220 million.

He and his wife have donated over $60 million to encourage excellence and innovation in healthcare and education.

Awards: Order of Canada, Canadian Mining Hall of Fame member, Honorary Doctorate of Law Degrees from York University and Western University.

Patrick Wittmann studied at the University of Toronto and graduated with a BA Hons in History and Political Science in 1989. He continued his education at Oxford University, obtaining a Master of Philosophy in International Relations in 1991.

He worked as a special assistant to the head of the UN peacekeeping operation in Mozambique before joining the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in 1995.

During his time in Canada, he was the Director of the UN and Commonwealth Affairs Division and of the International Defence Relations Division. He also served as the first Canadian Political Adviser at the North American Aerospace Defence Command in Colorado.

Most recently, he was Assistant Secretary to the Cabinet, Foreign and Defence Policy, at the Privy Council Office.

Since January 2022, he is Ambassador of Canada to Switzerland and Liechtenstein with a four-year mandate.

He is fluent in English, French and German. He is married to Catherine Stewart, they have three sons.

Mr. Bebek has over 20 years of experience in financing, foreign negotiations and acquisitions in the mineral exploration industry. His understanding of the capital markets and ability to position, structure and finance companies that he has been associated with has been instrumental in their successes. Mr. Bebek was formerly the President, CEO and Co-Founder of Cayden Resources, which was sold to Agnico Eagle Mines for $205M in November 2014, and a Co-Founder of Keegan Resources (now Galiano Gold). Mr. Bebek is also Chair and Director of Tier One Silver.

Joanna Ponicka boasts over a decade of exploration experience in the mining and oil & gas sectors, having served as a geologist, exploration manager, and portfolio manager. John began his career in 1992 as an equity analyst on the Merrill Lynch global allocation fund (MALOX). From 1993-2019, John was a senior executive for Mutual Fund and ETF providers, spending most of his career at Merrill Lynch Funds (now Blackrock) and JP Morgan Chase Funds. He was ranked #1 in the US in both gross and net sales once at Merrill Lynch and three times at JP Morgan Chase. John has conducted over 250 seminars and has been a speaker at 8 global events. He has also been a contributor to Kitco since 2017.

He was a member of the precious metals PM team at Sprott in 2017 and has developed his own compelling track record in mining equities since 1/1/16. John uses a proprietary methodology, which combines technical analysis with public information gathered from direct interaction with senior management of commodities companies. Mr. Lynch graduated in 1981 from St. Francis Xavier University with a joint honours degree in Economics and BBA. Prior to becoming a director with International PBX Ventures in 2012, Mr. Lynch had been CEO of privately held Nevada-focused Relief Gold. He also had been a director and later CEO of TSX-listed Firstgold Corp. He assumed the CEO position after the company had run into financial difficulty bringing its Relief Canyon mine into production. He arranged a sale of 51% of the company for a total capital injection of $26.5 million from Northwest Non-Ferrous Metals, one of China’s largest mining engineering and consulting groups.

From 2005 to 2008 Mr. Lynch was a partner with Kingsmill Capital Partners, a financial advisory firm specializing in advising public and private early stage growth companies. Prior to joining Kingsmill Capital he spent 15 years operating startup companies in industrial products, oil and gas and media. Mr. Lynch is also a co-founder of Cardiol Therapeutics, a NASDAQ and TSX listed clinical-stage life sciences company focused on the research and clinical development of cannabidiol as an anti-fibrotic and anti-inflammatory therapy for the treatment of cardiovascular disease.
