Pierre Lassonde has a B.A., University of Montreal 1967, a BSc Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique, Montreal 1971 and an MBA, University of Utah, 1973. He received his P.Eng. Ontario designation in 1976, CFA designation 1984 and OIQ in 2020. He holds honorary Ph.D’s in Engineering from the Universities of Toronto, Montreal and Ryerson, Doctor of Business, University of Utah and Honorary Doctor of Law from York University, June 2014 and Western University, June 2015. Awarded Doctor of Science, Concordia University, June 2016.

Pierre Lassonde co-founded Franco-Nevada Mining Corporation in 1982. Over the next 20 years Franco provided shareholders with a 36% annualized rate of return. The company was acquired by Newmont Mining Corp in February 2002 and Pierre became President and Vice Chairman in 2007. He served as Chairman of the World Gold Council from 2005 to 2009.  In 2008, Pierre led an investors group bringing back Franco-Nevada to the public market with a US$1.2B IPO and became its Chairman until May 2020. The success story continues as the market capitalization of the company today is over US$21B.

Mr. Lassonde’s philanthropic interest in education and the arts is well known. He is Past President of the Board of the Quebec National Art Museum (2005 to December 2016). In July 2015 Mr. Lassonde was appointed Chair of the Board of the Canada Council for the Arts for a term of five years. March 18, 2020, he was named Chair of Polytechnique Montréal’s Board of Directors for a period of five years.

Pierre was made a Member of the Order of Canada in 2002 and Grand Officer of the National Order of Québec in 2019. He was inducted as a Fellow into The Canadian Academy of Engineering in 2006 and inducted into the Canadian Mining Hall of Fame in January 2013.

Rick Rule has dedicated his entire adult life to many aspects of natural resources securities investing. Jonathan Guy is a Senior Metals & Mining Analyst at Berenberg in London. He has over 20 years’ experience as a mining analyst and has been top three ranked in both the Extel and Starmine surveys. Previously Jonathan worked for Numis Securities, RBC Capital Markets, Investec and Natixis. He holds a B.Eng in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines.

Florian Grummes is an independent financial analyst, advisor, consultant, trader & investor as well as an international speaker with more than 20 years of experience in financial markets. Having completed her PhD at Imperial College, Sarah went to work as a Geologist for Anglo American.  She was lucky enough to live and work all over the world in a variety of functions from exploration through to sustainability, risk management and assurance.  This grounding allowed her to explore different risk management techniques and uses, applying them to real situations.

Sarah co-founded Satarla in 2014.  Now with 80 Associates based globally and offices in London, Sydney, Johannesburg and Toronto, Satarla provides risk management consultancy, training and research to organisations from sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, charities, finance, together with petrochemicals, energy, oil & gas, and mining.  Specialising in making risk management practical and accessible to all those that use it, Sarah most enjoys projects through which a company’s culture can be evolved to meet its values and purpose.  In recent years, this has focused on integrated risk management with a focus on Environmental, Social and Governance risks.

Sarah is an honorary lecturer at Imperial College London and Research Associate at the University of Johannesburg.   Voted as one of the top 10 most inspirational women in mining in 2016, she is also a trustee of Geology for Global Development and co-founder of Responsible Raw Materials.

Emily is the Founder of Prospector, a platform designed to improve the accessibility of mining investments. Powered by Artificial Intelligence, Prospector uses AI to offer unprecedented access to mining investment data.

A geologist by training, Emily is also Founder of Global Venture, a firm that works with national ministries and community stakeholders to build and implement responsible, effective natural resource development plans with the goal of supporting investment by top-tier companies.

Prior to founding Global Venture, Emily led national mineral exploration and investment promotion programs in Afghanistan and Iraq for the United States Department of Defense, in partnership with local mining authorities. She also managed significant global financial networks and supply chain management programs throughout the Middle East and Africa with IBM’s Global Business Services.

Steve is CEO and Co-Founder of VRIFY, a technology platform being used by some of the world’s most prominent mining companies to communicate their value to investors with 3D models, virtual tours, and interactive presentation tools.

Prior to VRIFY, Steve was CEO of Integra Gold, a Quebec-focused resource exploration company, where he developed and then marketed with an app that showcased a virtual tour of their asset. He led the business from a $10M valuation in 2012 to a $590M acquisition in 2017. The Integra Gold Rush Challenge, a global million-dollar crowdsourcing competition, became the annual #DisruptMining challenge focused on bringing disruptive and exponential technologies to the mining sector.

Steve is also Chairman of Integra Resources and has twice been nominated as a finalist for the E&Y Entrepreneur Award in 2017 and 2019.
