John Hathaway
Senior Portfolio Manager, Tocqueville Asset ManagementJohn Hathaway, CFA, Senior Portfolio Manager, joined Tocqueville in 1997. He co-manages the Tocqueville Gold Fund (TGLDX). In addition, he manages separate accounts with a gold equity mandate including the Falcon Gold Fund, the Falcon Gold UCITS Fund, Tocqueville Gold Amerique (FCP), a sovereign wealth fund, and various separate accounts for family offices and government entities. Mr. Hathaway began his career in 1970 as an Equity Analyst with Spencer Trask & Co. In 1976, he joined investment advisory firm David J. Greene & Co., where he became partner. In 1986, he co-founded and managed Hudson Capital Advisors and in 1988 became Chief Investment Officer of Oak Hall Advisors. Mr. Hathaway holds a BA from Harvard College and an MFA from the University of Virginia. He has appeared in Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Grant’s and numerous other financial media outlets. Mr. Hathaway is widely considered to be a leading voice on the subject of gold and precious metals. On August 7, Sprott, Inc. announced that it will acquire the entire Tocqueville Gold Team, the Tocqueville Gold Fund and management contracts for all other accounts invested in gold strategies managed by the Team. The transaction is expected to close in January, 2020.

Neil Adshead
Portfolio Manager, Sprott Inc.Dr. Neil Adshead brings more than 25 years of mining sector and buy-side investment experience to the Sprott team. In his role as Portfolio Manager, he will focus on asset management for the RCIC business unit. Prior to joining Sprott as an Investment Strategist in early 2012, Neil was a senior mining analyst with Passport Capital, a San Francisco-based global investment firm, where he was responsible for investment origination and tracking, trading recommendations, technical reviews and project site visits. Neil spent 10 years in exploration, mine geology and corporate roles for Placer Dome subsidiaries in Canada, Australia and Papua New Guinea, before making the move into mining sector investing. At that time, Placer Dome was one of the largest gold mining companies in the world. Neil was awarded a Ph.D. degree in Economic Geology from James Cook University of North Queensland, Australia in 1995. After receiving a First Class Honours degree in Earth Sciences from Birmingham University, he worked for a year as a mud logger and data engineer on North Sea oil rigs for a Schlumberger subsidiary.

Morgan Asset Management International Equity Group – Global Specialist Team, based in London, and is a member of the team responsible for global natural resources mandates. Neil joined the team in September 2010 from CQS Asset Management where he was a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of the Long-Only Business, with particular focus on the natural resources sector. Prior to this, Neil was the head of Emerging Markets at Credit Suisse Asset Management where he managed gold and resource equity funds. Neil began his career holding various positions at mining and resource companies, including a role as a mining investment analyst at South African company Gold Fields. He is a qualified mining engineer and holds a BSc in Mining Engineering from Nottingham University.

Director of Mining Research, Numis SecuritiesJonathan Guy is Director of Mining Research at Numis Securities in London. He has 20 years’ experience as a mining analyst and has been top three ranked in both the Extel and Starmine surveys. Previously Jonathan worked for RBC Capital Markets, Investec and Natixis. He holds a B.Eng in Industrial Geology from the Camborne School of Mines.

Orion was spun off from Red Kite Management, where Doug was a Portfolio Manager. Before this, he was Chairman and CEO of International Royalty Company (IRC), one of the largest publicly traded mining royalty companies. IRC was sold to Royal Gold Corp. in February 2010 for CAD 740M. Doug previously worked as a field geologist and consultant for several mining companies. He has over 30 years total experience in the mining industry, and has published numerous technical and industry papers. Doug earned a BS in zoology and geology from the University of Vermont, and a Masters in Economics from the University of Arizona.
